Therma-Tru Corporation, announced Wednesday, Oct. 6, that the Company will consolidate its Archbold and Angola, Ind., distribution facilities into one facility in Howe, Ind.
The consolidation follows last year’s announcement to integrate the Fypon and Therma-Tru businesses, and represents the next step to further integrating the two operations for greater cost efficiencies in light of a persistently-challenging residential housing market.
"Our goal is to make this consolidation as seamless as possible for both our associates and customers," said David Randich, president of Therma-Tru.
Jobs in Howe will be offered to all current Archbold and Angola associates. If Archbold associates choose to not take a position at the new location due to the distance, fair and equitable assistance will be provided to help these associates through the transition, company officials said.
The Archbold warehouse and operations will relocate starting in the first quarter of 2011 and concluding in October 2011. Plans are also being established to move the remaining Fypon office functions during 2011 into Therma-Tru’s Maumee and Butler, Ind., locations.
The new facility is located at Howe is about 350,000 square feet.
Therma-Tru will lease the building. The facility will serve as a warehouse for both Therma-Tru and Fypon products, as well as light fabrication of urethane millwork products.
Approximately 100 associates will work at the new location.
The Howe location was selected after a comprehensive search of Ohio and Indiana to identify a facility that had enough square footage, access to interstates and rail lines, as well sufficient loading docks.
Howe is approximately 30 miles from Angola and 70 miles from Archbold.–Posted 10.6, 4:51 pm
