Bontrager Named Div. 3 District Player Of Year; Stewart Coach Of Year

David Bontrager, a senior, was named Division 3 Player of the Year in the Northwest District by the Northwest Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association.

He had 16 goals and 15 assists this year, and he is Archbold’s career goals and assists leader with 38 goals and 23 assists.

Sean Stewart, AHS head coach, was named Div. 3 Coach of the Year in the Northwest District.

In only their third year as a sanctioned sport at AHS, the Streaks finished the regular season undefeated and advanced to the Division III regional semifinals. Archbold finished the season with a 19-1 record.

Stewart’s record after three seasons is 40-10-1 for a .794 winning percentage.

Joining Bontrager on the First Team All-District was Brodie Nofziger, a junior.

Shae Hernandez, a senior, Jacob Ott, a junior, and Alex Roth, a senior at Pettisville, received Second Team All- District honors.

Caleb Liechty, Jacob Roth, and Caleb Yoder, Pettisville, received honorable mentions.

Girls

In girls soccer, Lauren Kindinger, a senior at Archbold, and Cassidy Wyse, a junior, received First Team All-District honors.

Jesse Fidler, a junior, and Alicia Hernandez, a freshman, were named Second Team All-District.

All-District Games

The 11th annual NWOSSCA Senior All-District game was played at Findlay, Sunday, Nov. 11.

Stewart coached the Blue boys team, on which Bontrager played. The Blue and White team played to a scoreless tie.

In the girls game, Kindinger played for the White team, which defeated the Blue team 2-0.
