The Archbold baseball team (3-4) picked up its first wins of the season last week.

The Streaks pounded out nine hits in a 14-5 win over Continental but lost 7-2 to Fairview, Saturday, April 3, in a three-way doubleheader at Fairview.

Collin Walker went the distance over North Central, pitching a two-hit 2-0 shutout, Monday, April 5, at Archbold.

The Blue and Gold fell victim to Eastwood 13-3, Tuesday, April 6, at Eastwood.

Archbold dropped Montpelier 5-3, Saturday, April 10, in another road contest.

AHS 14, Continental 5

Archbold recorded its first win of the season as Ben Miller and Zac Grosjean each went 3-5 at the plate, with Miller picking up two runs batted in and a double.

Grosjean added three RBIs. Corey Walker went 3- 4 with one RBI.

Tanner Wyse picked up the win, giving up five runs on eight hits, striking out six, and walking three in six innings.

Fairview 7, AHS 2

The game with Fairview was the second game of a three-way doubleheader. Archbold scattered seven hits from seven players, but errors plagued the Streaks.

“Errors continue to haunt us in the early season,” said Dick Selgo, AHS head coach. “Our pitching hasn’t been that bad, but we have got to get better defensively.”

Archbold committed five errors, with Corey Walker getting the loss on the mound. He gave up five runs on five hits, struck out two, and walked three.

Tyson Dietrich, Aaron Bontrager and Corey Wyse each pitched one inning.

AHS 2, North Central 0

Collin Walker pitched a complete game, recording five strikeouts and walking one.

T. Wyse led AHS at the plate, going 2-3 with a double. Corey Walker and B. Miller each went 1-3 with an RBI.

Eastwood 13, AHS 3

Eastwood exploded for six runs in the bottom of the second innings and pounded out 18 hits.

the loss, giving up nine runs on 10 hits and striking

out one in 1 1/3 innings. Aaron Wyse and Bontrager pitched in relief.

Collin Walker paced Archbold, going 1-2 with a home run and three RBIs.

AHS 5, Montpelier 3

Trailing 3-0 heading into the top of the fifth, the Streaks knotted the score as Collin Walker drove in the tying run. C. Wyse homered in the sixth for the winning run and AHS added an insurance run in the seventh to claim a 5-3 non-league victory.

T. Wyse (2-1) picked up the win, giving up three runs on three hits, striking out seven, and walking one in seven innings.

Archbold totaled seven hits in the contest.
