The Archbold boys U-14 soccer team hosted the Napoleon Wildcats, Friday, May 16, besting the visitors 5-2. Clayton Lehman started the scoring in the fourth minute with a goal from the left side with Caleb Liechty assisting. In the 31st minute David Bontrager fired a shot from beyond the 18-yard box that bent around the diving Napoleon keeper and into the net.

Four minutes later, sweeper Nathaniel Rodriguez dribbled up most of the field before sending a big cross from the right to a waiting Seth Yoder, who volleyed home the score in textbook fashion. After halftime, Archbold built on the 3-0 lead when Liechty shot from the left side and Jacob Ott redirected the ball for a goal.

Napoleon broke its dry spell with a goal in the 57th minute, but Blake Drewes responded for the Streaks eight minutes later by knocking in a goal off a corner kick. The Cats scored with four minutes left to produce the 5-2 final.

The Streaks finished the weekend with a 4-0 loss to Bryan and a 6-0 loss to Maumee Express, bringing their season record to 4-4-3. They travel to Sylvania to take on Pacesetter TIA in the final match of the season, Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m.
