Blue Streak Soccer Club




The Blue Streak Soccer Club girls U14 team finished second in its league. Girls U14

The Swanton Strikers came to Spengler Field to take on the U14/15 girls soccer team, Saturday, Oct 11. It was a defensive battle, but the Streaks won 2-1. Lauren Kindinger scored both Archbold goals; one was a penalty kick in the box. Swanton scored in the last 30 seconds. Amanda Lovejoy made six saves in goal.

Next was Swanton at Spengler Field, Monday, Oct. 13. The Streaks had lots of shots on goal but were unable to connect in the first half. They finally scored twice in the second half to win 2- 0. Guest player Alexa Coressel assisted on one goal and Krista Leupp, the other. Kindinger again scored twice.

The team traveled to Whitehouse to take on Anthony Wayne, Thursday, Oct. 16 to determine first place in the league. AW drew first blood on a penalty kick and led 1-0 at halftime. In the second half, they added two more. Archbold scored its lone goal on a penalty kick by Kindinger and lost its first game of the season 3-1.

In the final game of the season, Northwood visited Spengler Field, Friday, Oct. 24. Once again the Streaks had the ball on their offensive side much of the game. Alora Drewes made a shot through many players to score the first goal. Becca Gerig scored the second on an indirect penalty kick that flew over everyone’s head and curved into the corner of the goal. The Streaks won 2-0.

The team ended with an 8-1-1 record. They played great defense and allowed only eight goals all year.

Other team members were Blanca Calderon, Brie Deskins, Ella Weaver, Kassidy Garrow, Marli Fryman, Jesse Fidler, Cassidy Wyse, Meggie Yoder, and Olivia Deskins. They were coached by Vaughn Bentz and Skip Leupp.
