Boys U-14

The Archbold Blue Streaks boys U-14 soccer team traveled to Sylvania to take on Pacesetters TIA, Thursday, May 22, returning with a 4-2 victory in their final match of the season.

TIA scored first in the 18th minute, but Seth Yoder evened the score three minutes later with Jarett Lerma assisting. Yoder scored again four minutes later, knocking in the rebound of a Lerma shot attempt. TIA tied the score once more before Alex Hurst scored his first goal of the year when he charged the goal to pound in a Nathaniel Rodriguez shot attempt that had deflected off the keeper’s hands.

Five minutes after halftime, Lerma added an insurance goal after Rodriguez had skillfully gotten the goalie to commit to him before passing off to an open Lerma. Rodriguez, Blake Drewes, and Clayton Lehman shared the goalkeeper chores and led Archbold’s strong defensive effort.

Other players on the team are Micah Bernath, David Bontrager, Nick Cassidy, Ben Eggers, Caleb Liechty, Jacob Ott, and Nathan Wachtmann.

The Streaks finished with a 5-4-3 record and was fourth out of seven teams in Northwest Ohio Youth Soccer League Division 2.
