Blue Streak Girls Improve To 8-2





Archbold jumped out to a 21-14 first-quarter lead on its way to a 72-51 non-league girls basketball victory at Bowling Green, Monday, Dec. 22.

“This was a good team win,” said Brian Ziegler, AHS coach. “Everyone contributed.

“We did a nice job attacking their press and moved the ball well against their zone defense.”

The Streaks (8-2) took a 42- 30 lead into the locker room and was up 58-36 after three.

AHS had five players in double figures. Devin Newman led the Streaks with 12 points, followed by Dani Leaser, Hailey Galvan, and Alyssa Schaub with 11 each and Abbey Graber with 10.

Bowling Green’s Stanisha Taylor led all scorers with 19.

Archbold held a huge 42-27 rebounding advantage. Newman and Galvan each had eight.

The Blue and Gold (3-4) committed nine more turnovers (21-12), though.

Archbold was 11/16 from the foul line for 69%; BG was 11/16 for 69%.
