The Blue Streaks went 3- 0 last week– including two Northwest Ohio Athletic League wins– to improve to 17-3, 5-1 NWOAL.

It was Senior Night for five Blue Streaks in the Thunderdome, Friday, Feb. 16, when the Streaks welcomed the Panthers.

Kaiden Bedsole, Cash Gericke, Eli Miller, Bryce Williams, and Caleb Wooley took the court for the final time in the Thunderdome.

“It’s a great senior class,” said Doug Krauss, AHS head coach. “They’ve been a part of some really big moments.

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with them.”

All five started the game as AHS jumped out to a 10-6 lead.

The Streaks then inserted the regular starters and went on a 20-6 run over the final five minutes of the first quarter for a 30-12 advantage.

After a Delta basket, three-pointers from B. Williams, Jeron Williams, and Elijah Zimmerman gave AHS a 39- 14 lead.

After a pair of Zimmerman free throws, the Panthers scored on a Robby Arredondo layup, but Bedsole started a 9-0 Archbold run with another three.

Archbold ended the half with a 7-2 run, punctuated by a Zimmerman three to go into the locker room up 57-18.

The Streaks drained four more threes in the third and extended the difference to 77-28 going into the final eight minutes.

The seniors took the floor in the fourth quarter for the final time and exited with 6:30 left to the applause of an appreciative crowd.

Archbold held the Panthers (6-13, 2-4 NWOAL) to nine points in the fourth while scoring 13.

Archbold shot 60% from the field (36-60) and connected on 12 treys.

“We can do that,” said Krauss. “When we take good shots I like our chances.

“We moved the ball well and spaced the floor well. Our guys have typically done a really good job of making one more pass, and that usually leads to good things.”

Thirteen Streaks got in the scorebook. B. Williams led the way with 15 points. Zimmerman posted 14 while Bedsole and Rigo Ramos scored 10 each.

Delta’s Bowen Green scored 19 points to lead all scorers. Brady Wymer added 12.

The Panthers won the rebounding battle 25-24, but committed 23 turnovers to Archbold’s four.
