The Pettisville girls cross country team placed second in the girls Gold Division race at the Ottawa-Glandorf Blue/Gold Invitational, Saturday, Sept. 18.
The Birds finished with 90 points. Spencerville won with 55. Fairview was third with 130. There were 13 teams in the race.
The top finisher for PHS was Tanner Hostetler, who placed second in 19 minutes, 53.73 seconds. Spencerville’s Kelli Ley won in 19:42.11.
The Archbold boys team took fourth with 123 points in the boys Blue Division race, five points behind thirdplace Van Wert, who finished with 118. Napoleon won with 51 points. Ottawa-Glandorf was second with 118.
In the boys Gold Division race, Pettisville finished fifth with 160 points. St. Henry won with 56; Stryker was second with 67.
Brady Avina was the second Blackbird to cross the finish line. She was 14th in 21:53.16.
Samantha Shinhearl was 21st in 22:20.20, while Lexie King was 23rd in 22.26.49. Amber Loar was the last scoring runner for PHS; she was 46th in 23:28.54.

In the girls Blue Division race, Archbold’s Amanda Storrer was 121st in 30:21.50, while Elise Sauder was 122nd in 30:49.72.
Napoleon’s Erica Monnin won the Blue Division race in 19:39.68.
Adrian Ramirez was the first Blue Streak to cross the finish line. He was 15th in 17:42.40.
Zeb Frank finished 18th in 17:47.96, while Alex Hurst was 19th in 17:54.21. Ben Eggers placed 31st in 18:21.42.
Zach D’Alelio was the last AHS scoring runner. He was 40th in 18:36.40.

In the Gold Division race, Dominic Frey was the first Pettisville runner to finish. He placed 14th in 17:56.42.
Right on Frey’s heels was Tanner Rufenacht, who was 15th in 17:58.21. Aaron Bruner was 18th in 18:06.37, and Justin Pursel was 50th in 19:10.20.
Josh Borton was the final scoring runner for PHS; he was 77th in 19:59.98.
