The Pettisville baseball team picked up a pair of Buckeye Border Conference wins last week to even its league record at 3-3.
The Birds also suffered a BBC loss to North Central and stand 4-9 overall. NC 4, PHS 3
The Birds traveled to Pioneer, Tuesday, April 26 to face the Eagles.
PHS took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning but the Eagles (9-5, 3-1 BBC) scored one run in the second and fifth innings and tallied two runs in the bottom of the seventh for the 4-3 win.
Philip Roth suffered the loss. In seven innings he gave up three runs on seven hits, struck out four and walked five.
At the plate the Birds were led by Josh Klopfenstein, who went 3-4; Jacob Rupp, 2-3; and Alex Roth, 1- 2 with a double and two runs batted in. PHS 6, Hilltop 2
Pettisville ended its fourgame losing skid with a 6-2 win over BBC rival Hilltop, Friday, April 29.
The Birds took a 1-0 lead in the first and added two runs in the third and three in the bottom of the sixth.
The Cadets (4-11, 0-2 BBC) knotted the score at 1 in the second and added a run in the fourth.
Klopfenstein picked up the win.
In seven innings he gave up no earned runs, three hits, struck out five, and walked two.

Pettisville pounded out 13 runs at Fayette, Saturday, April 30 in a BBC contest.
The host Eagles (0-8, 0-5 BBC) mustered only one hit in the loss.
Rupp recorded the win, giving up just one hit in six innings, striking out 12 and walking two.
Jacob Roth went 2-3 at the plate with three RBIs. Pursel recorded two RBIs and one hit.
