Birds Have Busy Week, Play Three Golf Matches

The Pettisville golf team played three matches last week.

The Birds played Holgate and Liberty Center in a trimatch, Monday, Sept. 8, at Defiance. LC shot a team score of 168, while Holgate shot 179. The Birds finished with 234.

Matt Krill was low man for PHS, shooting a 45. Evan King shot a 51, while Hannah Meller had a 65 and Andrew Canada finished with a 73.

Holgate’s Everett Klingshirn and LC’s Taylor Lapinski shared match medalist honors, each shooting a low score of 39.

NC 174, PHS 225

The Birds traveled to Bryan to play North Central, Tuesday, Sept. 9.

The Eagles won 174-225.

King was low man for PHS, shooting a 47. Krill shot a 52; Meller, 61; and Canada, 65.

NC’s David Pinc was match medalist with a 38.

Hilltop 173, Tinora 191, PHS 242

Pettisville was back on the road, Thursday, Sept. 11, to Stryker for a tri-match with Hilltop and Tinora.

The Cadets won with a team score of 173. The Rams finished with 191, and the Birds had 242.

Krill shot a 43, while King had a 45. Meller finished with a 66, and Canada had an 88.

Hilltop’s Isaac VanArsdalen was match medalist with a 41.
