The Pettisville volleyball team won its second match of the season, Thursday, Sept. 6. The hosts beat visiting Stryker 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 25-23 in the first Buckeye Border Conference match of the season.
The Birds traveled to Cardinal Stritch, Saturday, Sept. 8 for a non-league match. The Cardinals won in three games 25-9, 25-12, 25-10.

The Birds were 112/133 in attacks, and were led by Haley Nofziger, who was 23/30 with nine kills. Chelsea Schmucker was 21/24, Katie Weber was 21/25 with seven kills, Jessica Henrie was 19/22 with eight kills, Jodi Spotts was 15/19, and Karina Rohrer-Meck was 14/14.
Rohrer-Meck was 64/67 in setting, while Spotts had three solo blocks. Nofziger had two solo blocks, while Henrie had one.
As a team the Birds were 87/93 in serving and 75/80 in serve reception.
The Panther junior varsity defeated PHS 16-25, 25-16, 25- 18.

Pettisville had 17 blocking errors and were 29/50 in serve reception in their three-game loss to the Cardinals.
Schmucker was 12/12 in attacks; Rohrer-Meck was 24/24 in setting.
The Cardinals won the JV match 25-16, 25-18. The PHS freshmen won 25-19, 13-25, 25- 14.
