Big And Little



Steam traction engines came in many different sizes at the National Threshers Association convention at the Fulton County Fairgrounds, June 26-29. In the foreground is a one-half scale working model of an engine that was built entirely from scratch. Charles Hendrickson, Edgerton, Wisc., inherited the small engine from the man who originally constructed it. He’s been running the little engine since he was three. In the background, Eric Jones, Perrysburg, left, and Jeramy Busch, Van Buren, run a 1912 Nichols & Shepard tractor. Both machines are running parts of sawmill and shingle mill through the large leather drive belts. The convention features all kinds of farming and construction equipment, but the steam engines still are the
