Beulah M. Zimmerman, age 99, of Archbold, passed away on Nov. 9, 2009, at Fairlawn Haven Nursing Home.
She was born on March 31, 1910, near Grabill, Ind., the daughter of David and Ida (Sauder) Richer.
Beulah lived in the Archbold area most of her life. She was employed at Sauder Woodworking, along with numerous volunteer positions in the community.
Beulah was actively involved as a member at West Clinton Mennonite Church, near Pettisville, Ohio, teaching children and participating in the Mennonite Women’s Group.
She enjoyed traveling, spending time with her family, cooking, reading, and was an encourager to others. Beulah was known for her handmade crafts and giving them as gifts to her family and friends. During her years of living in the Fairlawn Haven complex, Beulah participated in many group activities.
Beulah is survived by four stepchildren: Carolyn (Ralph) metzler of Archbold, Ohio, Marilyn (Morris) Huffman of Colorado Springs, Colo., Emogene (Harold) Buerge of Kernersville, N.C., Roger (Ethelyn) Zimmerman of Jackson, Miss.; 10 step-grandchildren; 17 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Arlen, her parents, and her brothers, Lester, Orland, Lawrence, and Ora Richer preceded her in death.
A memorial services was held Thursday, Nov. 12, 2009, at 4 p.m., at the Fairlawn Haven chapel with Pastor Jess Engle and Pastor Naomi Engle officiating. Burial followed in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold was in charge of the arrangements.
