Betty J. Grieser, age 78 years, of Archbold, passed away suddenly early Tuesday morning, July 24, 2012, in her home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1933, at West Unity, the daughter of Charlie and Emma (Sigg) Coy.
She married Herbert C. Grieser on Aug. 2, 1953, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 1, 2008.
A resident of the Archbold area many years, she was a homemaker and started her bookkeeping career at the Farmers & Merchants State Bank, and then worked for her husband’s businesses, Herb Grieser Trucking and Promised Land Insurance.
She was a marriage counselor and was in lay ministry at CCNO and Transport for Christ.
She attended the Archbold Evangelical Church and was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by three children, Judy (Curtis) Nofziger, Jerry (Jill) Grieser, and Janna (Sam D.) Short, all of Archbold; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and another expected in October; and one brother, Harlan (Donnabelle) Coy of Stryker.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two brothers, Raymond Coy and Albert Clinton Coy.
Memorial services were held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Archbold Evangelical Church with Pastor Jesse Kahler officiating. Interment preceded in the Pettisville Cemetery.
Short Funeral Home in Archbold was entrusted with the arrangements.
