The Archbold municipal income tax had its best August in eight years in terms of gross collections, said Kevin Morton, a councilman, when council reviewed the monthly income tax report during its Monday, Sept. 14 meeting.
Collections from the village 1.5% tax on income and corporate profits raised $624,935.12, or $77,219.74 more than August 2014.
So far in 2015, the income tax has raised $2,967,155.46. In 2014, the tax raised just over $3.7 million.
Money from the village income tax goes to capital projects such as streets and associated utilities.
