Matthew L. Foth, 39, Archbold, was arrested on a charge of domestic violence, Friday, July 19.
Martin Schmidt, Archbold police chief, said Foth was driving a vehicle north on North Defiance Street when Joe Wyse, a police officer, stopped him in the 300 block.
Wyse was on his bicycle when he made the stop.
Schmidt said officers interviewed Foth and the alleged victim in the case, Bobbie J. Dopp, 32, Wauseon, at the scene of the traffic stop.
Foth was taken into custody and transported to CCNO. He was released Monday, July 22, on his own recognizance.
The police report states at about 10:56 am, Dopp, who identified Foth as her former live-in boyfriend, visited Foth’s home on Miller Avenue.
As she attempted to leave, Foth allegedly struck the hood of her car, then jumped on the auto, damaging it.
Foth then allegedly followed her in his car as she went north on South Defi- ance Street. He allegedly drove around her vehicle and came to a sudden stop, causing her car to strike his.
No damage resulted to either vehicle.
Schmidt said police first began receiving calls about the incident from people in the area of Miller Ave.
Then Dopp called police from her auto. Police advised her to report to the scene of the traffic stop.
