Arnold Thomas Johnson, 87, of Davison, Mich., formerly from Archbold, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, May 20, 2012.
Arnold was born in Detroit, Mich., on July 13, 1924, the son of Arthur and Laura Johnson.
He married Lois June Jones on Sept. 17, 1949.
He graduated from Royal Oak High School in 1943.
He served our country during World War II in the United States Army with the 630th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He saw action during World War II having 5 Battle Stars, which included D- Day and the Battle of the Bulge.
He attended the University of Detroit.
Arnold was employed 38 years for Higbie Manufacturing/ Fulton Tube as an international project coordinator, retiring in 1992.
He attended Faith Baptist Church in Davison.
Arnold is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois; children, Gail (Timothy) Jahn of Grand Blanc, Mich., Gary (Sharon) Johnson of Farmington, Conn.; grandchildren, Courtney Plotzke of Troy, Mich., 2nd Lt. Shaun, Jahn, USMC, Quantico, Va., and Christopher Johnson, Farmington, Conn.; greatgrandchildren Madeleine and Abagail Plotzke; brother Arthur and wife Gertrude, sister Ruth Kostich and husband Bill, Clarkston, Mich.; brother-inlaw David Jones and wife Betty of Mount Airy, N.C.; also many nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his twin brother Owen Johnson, and sister Shirley Haughom.
