U-10 Boys

The U-10 Archbold Blue Streak boys soccer team hosted the Defiance Strikers, Tuesday, Sept. 25, and won 16- 5. Seth Mayer, Kyle Ott, and Kegan Ott scored in the first quarter and led 3-1. In the second quarter, Michael Weigand was the leading scorer with three goals and Alex Weaver scored one to lead 7-4 at the half.

In the third quarter, Alex Short and Mayer each scored two; AJ Short and Kegan Ott scored one each and Archbold led 13-5. In the final quarter with the Blue Streaks playing different positions, Jack Fisher, Weaver, and Kegan Ott still scored one each for the 16-5 final. Goalies were Alex Short, Mayer, and Weigand.

The team won 7-4 at Pacesetter Crescent Academy, Thursday, Sept. 27. Weigand scored quickly and had two goals in the first quarter, and AJ Short, one, for a 3-1 lead. In the second, Mayer scored one and Pacesetter countered with one for a 4-2 advantage. Weigand, as goalie, made an awesome save preventing a goal.

In the third quarter, Weigand came out of goal to score for the team. There was a penalty shot against goalie AJ Short that went wide. In the final quarter, Pacesetter scored twice.

Fisher and AJ Short scored one goal each, and goalie Mayer, saved the ball from going in the Blue Streak net for the 7-4 final.

The Blue Streaks won due to the teamwork of all of the players, including the defense of Kyle Kinsey, Curtis Wooley, Weaver, and Kyle Ott.

The Blue Streaks traveled to Bowling Green, Saturday, Oct. 6, with Fisher unable to play due to injury. Bowling Green had only five players for a 6v6 game.

Weigand scored in the first quarter, but BG scored twice as the Blue Streaks were sluggish. In the second, guest player Ian Radabaugh scored, but BG countered. Weigand prevented a goal, pushing it over the top post. In the third, Weigand scored with an assist from guest player Jared Kidder. BG scored again, but AJ Short drove through the pushing to score two more.

In the final quarter, AJ Short scored on a penalty shot. Wooley didn’t let the BG team plow him down, and Kinsey came alive in defense. The Blue Streaks won 13-4.
