The Archbold girls soccer team captured a 1-0 overtime win against Bluffton, Tuesday, Oct. 14 in a Division II sectional semifinal at Ottawa-Glandorf.
The Streaks fell to Ottawa- Glandorf 5-0 in the sectional final, Thursday, Oct. 16.
AHS finished with a 13-3-2 record.
AHS 1, Bluffton 0
Bluffton was rated the underdog, but Archbold had its work cut out for it.
Nothing was easy in the match. Archbold out shot Bluffton, but no ball hit the back of the net as the Streaks had several attempts off the crossbar and the corner posts. The score was still 0-0 at the end of regulation.
The game went into a 15- minute sudden death overtime, which means the first team to score a goal wins.
Within two minutes Archbold had a ball in front of the net but could not finish the play for a score.
Bluffton cleared the ball to midfield. Alicia Drewes gained control of the ball and penetrated the goal. She made a quick move and scored the winning goal four minutes into overtime.

Ottawa-Glandorf has been the team to beat to advance out of sectionals for Archbold the last couple of years.
This year seemed to be promising as the Titans lost several key players last year.
Archbold was too defensive at the start of the game and did not push up the field. The Streaks gave OG the reign of the field, which turned into two quick goals by the Titans.
Archbold tried to put several combinations together, but the Titans were all over the ball and continued to build a lead.
Archbold had some attempts to score by Kelsey Moshier and Autumn Lantz, but none caught net.
