Archbold School Enrollment Up, Pettisville Down; Opening Day Goes Well, Superintendents Report

Aaron Rex, superintendent of the Archbold Area School District, and Steve Swtizer, Pettisville superintendent, reported the first day of the new school year was successful.

“The first day went very well, without any problems,” Switzer said.

“With only two new teachers on our faculty and no new support staff employees, most of our people are veterans at what they do.

“Opening day seemed in many ways like resuming of school after a long weekend or short vacation.

“There were very few tears, although some of the preschoolers were a bit challenged to leave their mothers.

“Overall it was an excellent first day and first part week of school.”

Rex said he was pleased with the first two days of school.

Students were able to get on the right buses, and those who didn’t were successfully re-directed by staff.

The Archbold High School Meet The Teacher night, in which parents could follow their student’s schedule through a simulated school day, received many positive comments, Rex said.
