Archbold School Board Okays Personnel Actions

The Archbold School Board approved rescinding a contract previously awarded to Josh Johnson as the seventh grade girls basketball coach at its Monday, July 21 meeting.

In response to a question from Phil Nofziger, board member, Aaron Rex, superintendent, said Johnson asked to be relieved from the post, saying he didn’t have the time to take on the job.

Rex told the board someone might be interested in the position, and school offi- cials hope to have the opening filled by the August or September board meetings.

In other personnel action, a one-year contract was approved for Amy Baden as an intervention specialist teacher for the 2014-15 school year.

Contracts were approved for Mike Kennedy, seventh grade football coach, assistant varsity boys basketball coach; Garrett Grime, Ethan Warnke, Carl Brubaker, and Angel Huerta, student workers; and Abbey Graber, volunteer junior high girls basketball coach, for the next school year.

Beth Voll and Melissa Nafziger were approved as certified van drivers, having met all of the certification requirements put in place by the board as of July 14.

Board members also approved the classified substitute list.

Jack Downey was granted a one-year contract as a classified employee substitute for 2014- 15, and Skylar Gericke was ap- proved as a student worker.

John Downey, board member, abstained from voting on the last two items due to family connections.
