Swanton won the boys race with 36 points. Wauseon was second with 42; Archbold also had 42, but finished third.

Wauseon won the girls race with 17 points. Archbold was second with 60; Swanton didn’t have enough runners for a team.

Michael Volkman was sixth in 19:04; Jacob Gobrogge was eighth in 19:23. Justin Storrer finished 12th in 20:00. Chan Tinsman rounded out the Streaks’ scoring; he was 14th in 20:39.

Other Streaks, their places and times: 20. Chris Jennings 22:56; 27. Seth Strawn 25:24.

Wauseon’s Marin Baird won in 21:02.

“All of the runners had an incredible day today,” said Mike Wachtmann, AHS coach.

“All five girls ran a personal record- some substantially better!

“I am very happy with the boys tying Wauseon. The meet came down to a photo finish with the second runner. In the case of a tie the place goes to the place of the sixth man and Wauseon was one place better than us.

“We train for the end of the year, and this is what we expect. I am surprised that we are running so well already!”
