Archbold residents were involved in a traffic mishap at the intersection of Co. Rds. L and 23 at 2:14 pm, Saturday, Aug. 9, a Fulton County Sheriff Department report states.
A vehicle driven by an unknown person was traveling west on Co. Rd. L, then turned left, to go south, in front of a northbound vehicle driven by Thomas R. Rupp, 51, Archbold.
The FCSD report states Rupp saw the vehicle in time. He applied his brakes and turned to the right to avoid the auto.
A third vehicle, driven by Tara S. Brodbeck, 35, Archbold, with passenger Keaton Brodbeck, 11, and Chaney Brodbeck, 9, same address, was traveling north behind the Rupp vehicle.
The report states T. Brodbeck saw the unknown driver pull into the intersection.
T. Brodbeck applied her brakes and swerved to the left, into the southbound lane, to avoid both the unknown vehicle and the Rupp vehicle.
But then T. Brodbeck saw that the unknown vehicle had turned south, coming straight for her.
She then turned back to the right, and in doing so, struck Rupp’s vehicle.
The unknown vehicle continued south, leaving the scene of the mishap.
No injuries, no citations.
A car, driven by Leroy K. Foth, 66, Archbold, with passenger Janet A. Foth, 68, same address, was traveling north on Co. Rd. 24 when the vehicle struck a deer.
The incident occurred at 9:13 pm, Saturday, Aug. 9, in the 4000 block.
