Oct. 19

Oct 20

1:10 pm: A representative of S&S Express reported a subject pumped $20.01 worth of gasoline, then made other purchases in the store, paying with a credit card. Subject left without paying for fuel. Attempting to contact subject.

2:32 pm: Unruly juvenile, Colony Meadows, child turned over to father.

8:12 pm: A pickup truck, driven by Kelly L. Lange, 46, Wauseon, was traveling north on S. Defiance St., and had just passed the Schlatter St. intersection. A second pickup, driven by Juaquin Rojo, 17, rural Napoleon, was traveling south, and attempted to turn left into a business drive. The two vehicles collided. Rojo fled the scene on foot, arriving later at the police station. Lange was transported by Archbold Rescue to Archbold Hospital, where she was treated and released. Rojo was cited for failure to yield the right-of-way while turning left, driving without an operator license, and failing to stop and exchange identification and registration after an accident.

Oct. 21

12:20 pm: Report of reckless operation, S. Defiance St. at West Barre Rd., located motorists and gave driver warning.

3:12 pm: A minivan, driven by Shirley Jean Feather, 37, Napoleon, was traveling south on S. Defiance St., and was stopped in traffic about 181 feet north of the Short-Buehrer Rd. intersection. A car, driven by Matthew R. Munn, 16, rural Wauseon, was traveling south on S. Defiance Street behind the minivan. The two vehicles collided. Munn was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.

11:36 pm: Report of criminal trespass, 200 block S. Defiance St., incident reported more than nine hours after it occurred, no charges filed.

Oct. 22

1:30 pm: A semi truck, driven by Frank B. Schmich, 54, Toledo, owned by Yellow Transportation, Decatur, Ill., was driving east in the Circle K convenience store parking lot when the trailer struck a light fixture on the overhead canopy covering the gas pumps.

3:45 pm: Citation issued to Matthew Scott Rose, 31, Waldron, Mich., for speeding and open container of alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, 900 block Stryker St., citation issued to vehicle passenger, Matthew Huner, 33, Fayette, for open container.

Oct. 23

3:05 pm: Citation issued to Herminia C. Masu, 59, Archbold, for speeding, 400 block Ditto St.

7:30 pm: Traffic stop, verbal warning for no license plate light, citation issued to Heron M. Chavez, 41, rural Wauseon, for open container in a motor vehicle, 200 block S. Defiance St.

Oct. 24

12:08 pm: A semi truck, driven by Gerald Tyrone Butler, Martinsville, Va., owned by Wray Trucking, Rocky Mountain, Va., was traveling south on S. Defiance St., while a car, driven by Christine A. Copple, 55, Archbold, was also traveling south. The semi drove into the center turn lane, to make a wide turn to the right into the Pamida discount store. The two vehicles collided.

8:09 pm: A representative of S&S Express reported someone pumped $25.37 worth of gasoline and drove off without paying.

9:30 pm: Theft report, 501 West St.

Note: During the preceding week, Archbold police offi cers gave verbal warnings for no headlights, failure to use turn signals, disobeying a stop bar, disobeying a traffic signal, speeding, driving left of center, failure to drive in marked lanes, impeding traffic, loud music, and driving through railroad gates while gates coming down.
