Aug. 26

2:01 am: Loud noises, Jane Ct., six to eight people outside, advised subjects to keep it down.

7:15 pm: 911 hang-up call, 200 block La Choy Dr., child playing with cell phone, advised parents.

Aug. 27

7:06 am: Citations to Casey L. Jaggers, 23, Montpelier, expired license plate and disobeying stop sign, E. Beech St. at West St.

12:10 pm: Complaint of Dollar General short-changing subject; store checked receipts at end of day and gave customer correct amount.

2:35 pm: Suspicious male subject, 200 block South St., subject gone on arrival, picked up by van.

5:15 pm: Juvenile thought subject was following her home, 700 block West St., was neighbor coming home.

Aug. 28

12:21 pm: A pickup truck, driven by Lori A. Gruenhagen, 45, rural Napoleon, was backing out of a parking space at the Rite Aid parking lot, while a car, driven by Rilla K. Beltz, 68, rural Archbold, was backing out of parking space across from her. The two vehicles collided.

12:45 pm: subject driving utility vehicle on bike path, 1500 block S. Defiance St., advised subject not to drive on path.

8:43 pm: Complaint of dog barking all day, Colony Meadows, no food or water, left written warning for owner.

Aug. 29

6:18 am: Citation to Kyle R. Hogrefe, 29, Deshler, disobeying traffic signal, S. Defiance St at E. Lugbill Rd.

5:26 pm: Subject riding on bicycle handlebars, 100 block Walnut St, advised subject against practice.

5:36 pm: Citation to Carrie L. Yoder, 29, Archbold, speeding, 400 block Walnut St.

Aug. 31

12:04 pm: A semi-tractor trailer, driven by Randall D. Williams, Ft. Wayne, Ind., owned by Towne Air Freight, LLC, South Bend, Ind., was traveling east on E. Holland St., attempted to turn left into village parking lot at 222 E. Holland St. to make a delivery. As the semi was turning into the lot, the vehicle struck a low-hanging wire belonging to Ridgeville Telephone Company, pulling the wire down. The semi was not damaged.

4:05 pm: Motorist pumped gasoline at Friendship Food Mart, then drove off without paying for fuel. Subject later returned and paid.

7:45 pm: Citation to Patricia R. Burkholder, 44, rural Bryan, for speeding, 600 block Lafayette St.

9:25 pm: 911 hang-up, 700 block N. Defiance St., accidental call.

Sept. 1

4:25 am: Traffic stop, verbal warning to subjects in Woodland Park after hours.

3:15 pm: A semi tractor-trailer, driven by Scott Vance Oakley, 36, Oakland, Md., owned by Covenant Transport, Inc., Chattanooga, Tenn., was traveling south on S. Defiance St, and attempted to turn right onto Stryker St. The wheels wedged on top of the bellshaped bollard on the northwest corner of the intersection. Oakley was cited for failure to maintain reasonable control.

(Note: During the preceding week, Archbold Police officers gave verbal warnings for dropping children off in the roadway on W. Holland St., speeding, stop sign, passing in a hazard zone, no thru trucks, stopping in road, left of center, illegal U-turn, improper display of license plates, no headlights, failure to drive in marked lanes, and reckless operation.)
