5:30 pm: A sport-utility vehicle, driven by Andrew J. Nofziger, 20, rural Archbold, was traveling north on S. Defiance St. A pickup, driven by Michael D. Short, 62, rural Archbold, was turning left from the Pamida driveway. They collided. Short was cited for failure to yield right-of-way. No injuries.
April 26

2:56 pm: 911 hang-up, 500 block Union St., male subject needed rescue, Archbold Rescue dispatched.
3:55 pm: Theft from vehicle, 801 W. Barre Rd.
7:17 pm: Juvenile shoplifter stopped, $9.99 mobile phone taken, officials declined to prosecute.
Note: During the preceding week, Archbold police officers gave verbal warnings for parking the wrong way on a street, driving with one headlight out, stopping too close to a school bus, speeding, failure to drive in marked lanes, disobeying a stop sign.
