5:43 pm: A car driven by Ruby Short, 88, Archbold, was backing at the McDonald’s with passenger Lawrence Short, 88, same address. Ruby Short stopped her vehicle when she noticed a pickup truck, driven by William Hammersmith, Germfask, Mich., was backing from a space. They collided.
11:30 am: Open burning, 300 block Lincoln St., advised to put fire out.
2:36 pm: Dispute between neighbors.
6:55 pm: Vulgar language, 400 block S. Lincoln St., subject arrested on charge of being in control of motor vehicle while intoxicated.
2:32 pm: Unwanted subjects, 100 block Garden Dr., told to leave.
7:30 am: A minivan driven by M.E. Headings, 84, Archbold, with passenger Martha S. Headings, 83, same address, was traveling south on S. Defiance St., and was attempting to turn into a private drive about 490 feet north of Nolan Prkwy. Following the minivan was a car driven by Tracy W. Rudolph, 39, Archbold. As the minivan slowed, they collided. Rudolph was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
3:21 pm: Citation to Austin D. Ripke, 16, rural Archbold, for passing a stopped school bus with its lights flashing, 200 block West Barre Rd.
3:15 pm: Dog in street, 700 block N. Defiance St., returned to owner.
3:14 pm: Verbal warning to semi driver, trailer doors open, items falling out onto street, no damage.
4:13 pm: Micah E. Garcia, 14, rural Archbold, was walking east in the parking spaces on the north side of the 400 block of W. Holland St. A car driven by Matthew R. Munn, 17, rural Archbold, was traveling north on Eicher St. He turned left, to go west, and drove into the parking area. Neither attempted to avoid a collision. Garcia jumped into the air, landing on the Munn vehicle windshield. Garcia did not request medical treatment.
7:45 pm: Subject shooting a BB gun, 200 block Wilson St., advised of ordinance against shooting BB guns and firearms in the village.
1:23 pm: Stray dog, 300 block Fox Run, returned to owner.
6:36 pm: Semi parked where trucks not allowed, ConAgra, advised driver to park elsewhere.
3:45 pm: A representative of Archbold Main Stop reported the driver of a silver or gold “crossover” style vehicle pumped $35 worth of gasoline and drove away without paying.
9:16 pm: Eliasar Zavala, Archbold, told police as he was driving his sport-utility vehicle along Miller Avenue, a mower operated by the Archbold Street Department threw stones at his vehicle, causing damage. The incident occurred between 1 pm and 1:30 pm that day.
3:40 pm: Loud music, 200 block Wilson St., advised to turn it down.
6:55 pm: Loud yelling, 100 block Garden Dr., advised subject she was disturbing the neighbors.
8:37 pm: Traffic stop, juveniles launching water balloons, advised youths against practice, notified parents.
During the preceding week, Archbold police offi cers issued verbal warnings for improper lane use, speeding, disobeying a traffic signal, and disobeying a traffic control device.
