Archbold Police Cite Railroad Again

Archbold police issued a citation for disorderly conduct to the Norfolk Southern railroad after crossings in the village were blocked, Friday, Feb. 8.

In his report, an officer discovered an eastbound train blocking both the Defiance Street and Franklin Street crossings about 10:30 pm.

Contact was made with NS dispatch, and was told the train was stopped for mechanical reasons and would begin moving again in 15 minutes.

The report notes that after an additional 40 minutes, NS officials advised the train would move shortly.

The train finally got underway at 11:35 pm, about 65 minutes.

Currently, 19 counts of disorderly conduct are pending against NS in Fulton County Western District Court. Cases were filed on Wednesday, Feb. 6, Monday, Feb. 11, and Thursday, Feb. 14.

Pre-trial conferences for most of the cases are set for Tuesday, April 2.
