Archbold Police Assist Williams County Sheriff

Archbold police were called to assist the Williams County Sheriff Department with a traffic-related investigation, Monday, Sept. 26.

The police report states an APD officer was asked to look for a semi rig traveling north on St. Rt. 66 from Co. Rd. 34 around 12:24 pm. The semi allegedly struck a stop sign and a utility pole.

The officer was later advised the truck had stopped at Bil-Jax. The officer went there, found the semi, and located the driver.

The officer stayed with the driver until the Ohio State Highway Patrol arrived to talk about the crash.

In an unrelated case, police received a report on Friday, Sept. 23, about 9:02 pm, that a possibly drunk driver was traveling east on Stryker Street from Co. Rd. 24.

A Fulton County sheriff deputy was in the area, located the suspect vehicle, and performed a traffic stop. APD arrived on scene and stood by as the deputy conducted his investigation.
