Archbold Man Injured In April 1 Crash




Butch A. Blankenship, 44, Archbold, was treated and released at the Fulton County Health Center after he was injured in a two-vehicle crash at 6:47 pm, Friday, April 1.

The Fulton County sheriff crash report states Blankenship was driving a pickup west on US20A, and had slowed for traffic near the Co. Rd. 13 intersection.

A car, driven by Cody C. Adams, 24, Swanton, was traveling west behind Blankenship. They collided about 100 feet east of the intersection.

Delta Rescue transported Blankenship to FCHC. Adams, who was not injured, was cited for failure to maintain an assured clear distance.

Rebecca M. Eddins, 25, Wauseon, was treated and released at the Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center, Toledo, following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of St. Rt. 66 and Co. Rd. J. about 7:52 am, Saturday, April 2.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol report states Kenneth S. Thatcher, 64, rural Archbold, was driving a pickup east on Co. Rd. J, and failed to stop for the stop sign at St. Rt. 66.

He collided with a northbound car driven by Eddins.

Archbold Rescue responded to the accident. Eddins was flown from the crash scene to St. Vs.

The report indicates Thatcher received possible injuries. He was not transported by a rescue squad.

Thatcher was cited for disobeying a stop sign.

Pedestrian

A pedestrian walking along St. Rt. 66 was struck by a pickup about 7:18 pm, Sunday, March 27, an OSHP report said.

The report states Madeline Wilson, 14, who lives in the 13000 block of St. Rt. 66, was walking south on the west side of the highway when a pickup driven by David E. Knisely, 53, rural Fayette, struck her. The crash occurred south of the Fayette village limits.

The report indicates Wilson was taken to Toledo Hospital by Fayette Rescue. A Toledo Hospital spokesman said there was no information available about Wilson.

OSHP did not issue a citation.

Other Crashes

Kim L. Husted, 58, rural West Unity, was driving a car west on US20A about 8:54 pm, Saturday, March 26, when she collided with a deer about a half-mile east of Co. Rd. 20, an FCSD report said. Husted was not injured.

Stetson Lee William Wilson, 20, rural Archbold, was driving a pickup south on Co. Rd. 24 about 6:59 am, Tuesday, April 5, when he collided with a deer about a tenth of a mile north of Co. Rd. B, an FCSD report said. Wilson was not injured.
