An Archbold man was involved in what the Fulton County Sheriff Department termed as two traffic crashes during the early morning hours of Sunday, Sept. 13.
Andrew Jordan Huerta, 23, Archbold, was involved in crashes at 3:30 am and 3:31 am.
The first report states Huerta was driving a car north on St. Rt. 108, with passenger Jobe Gonzales Reynolds, 24, rural Fayette.
Huerta told deputies he swerved to miss deer standing in the roadway about two-tenths of a mile north of Co. Rd. A-C, and drove off the right side of the road. Huerta was unable to get the car back on the road; it went out of control.
The car went off the right, or east, side of the road, struck a telephone junction box and a junction box marker, then went off into a soybean field.
Neither man was injured. Huerta received a citation for failure to control for that mishap.
The second report states Huerta made a “J” turn in the field, causing more damage to the crops, then tried to drive back onto the highway.
The car struck the ditch embankment with its front end. The back end came off the ground; the vehicle shifted to the north, and came down on a second telephone junction box.
No citation was issued in connection with the second mishap, and neither man was injured.
