The Archbold junior varsity softball team went 2-1 last week.
Archbold hosted Southview, Tuesday, May 1, and the Streaks won 13-3 in five innings. Winter Fricke was the winning pitcher with three strikeouts.
Archbold pounded out 12 hits; Shannon Neuenschwander, Jen Gerken and Desi Newman each had two. Peyton Driver had a triple and Fricke added three runs batted in.
The Streaks traveled to Wauseon, Thursday, May 3, and won 25-2 in five innings. Kennedy Wyse was the winning pitcher with six strikeouts and three hits.
Desi Newman hit for the cycle, including a grand slam home run. The Streaks had 17 hits. Hannah Hesterman had three; Gerken, Neuenschwander and Paige Peterson all had two.
Megan Miller and Ciara Burris both scored two runs.
Fairview came to Memorial Park, Friday, May 4, and beat the Streaks, 9-8. Archbold was down 6-0 after two but battled back and took an 8-7 lead into the seventh, only to give up two runs. Archbold (15-3) was unable to score in the bottom of the inning.
Fricke pitched the entire game, giving up eight hits. Four errors hurt the cause.
Fricke had three hits and three RBIs while Driver, Newman and Jessie Walker all had two hits.
