Archbold JV Softball Raises Record To 13-1



The Archbold junior varsity softball team hosted Liberty Center, Monday, April 9. Winter Fricke pitched all five innings and got the 13- 1 win.

Fricke had four hits. Shannon Neuenschwander and Cayla Walker each had two. Peyton Driver and Neuenschwander both had home runs.

The team traveled to Springfield on a bitterly cold day, Tuesday, April 10, and won 25-6. The team had 29 hits in five innings.

Hannah Kern was the winning pitcher. Fricke also pitched. Desi Newman had four hits; Kern, Jen Gerken, Neuenschwander, Driver, and Jessie Walker all had three.

Newman had five runs batted in, while Ciara Burris and Gerken had three.

Delta visited Archbold, Thursday, April 12, and again the Streaks won in five innings, 18-1. Kern was the winning pitcher with eight strikeouts and one hit.

Newman had two doubles and a single. Gerken had a triple and single.

The Streaks traveled to Evergreen, Monday, April 16, and won 26-1 in five innings.

Fricke was the winning pitcher, giving up just two hits. Newman had three home runs– including two in one inning.

Neuenschwander, Driver and Fricke all had four hits. Newman had eight RBIs.

Parkway came to town, Thursday, April 19. Archbold won 10-4 in seven innings.

The Streaks (13-1) came from behind and scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth in an exciting game.

Fricke got the win on the mound. Gerken had two hits. Paige Peterson, Fricke, Driver, Walker, Alexa Coressel, Newman and Neuenschwander also had hits.
