Archbold leads the Northwest Ohio Athletic League with a 5-1 record after winning a tri-match with Swanton and Montpelier, Thursday, Sept. 17, at Swanton.
Bryan, Swanton, and Wauseon are in a three-way tie for second with 4-2 records.
The Streaks were scheduled to play Wauseon and Liberty Center in a tri-match on Monday. The NWOAL tournament is Friday, Sept. 25, at Auglaize Golf Club, Defiance. Wauseon is the threetime defending champion.
AHS 167, Swanton 169, Montpelier 188
Ian Radabaugh and Trevor Rupp shared match medalist honors with scores of 40.
Brandon Miller shot a 42, while DJ Schroeder and Brenden Bostelman each shot a 45. Elijah Miller finished with a 47.
“When Trevor came in with a 40 it was a bit of a shock to everyone but Archbold,” said Mike Rosebrook, AHS head coach.
“I just said, well, he’s been playing good lately.
“We don’t have the best golfer in the league on our team. But all six of my guys can throw down a 40 on any given day.
“We never know where it will come from in the lineup.”
Fairview 178, AHS 178, Antwerp 192
Archbold and Fairview both finished with team scores of 178 while Antwerp finished with 192, Monday, Sept. 14, at Wauseon.
Bostelman and E. Miller each shot a 41. Mitch Grosjean finished with a 47, while Kreighton Simms had a 49.
Hudson Childs, Archbold’s fifth man, had a score of 50. Lucas Rupp had a 56.
Fairview’s fifth man had a 48.
Antwerp’s Jeff Coleman was match medalist, with a 39.
AHS 165, Holgate 211
The Streaks beat Holgate 165-211, Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Wauseon.
Radabaugh was low man for AHS, with a 40. Brandon Miller had a 41; Schroeder and Bostelman each had a 42. E. Miller scored a 43, while Grosjean had a 46.
Holgate’s Jake Grim was match medalist, with a 39.
