Archbold CC Runs Tri-Meet With Evergreen, Pettisville

The Archbold cross country teams traveled to Evergreen to run a tri-meet with the Vikings and Pettisville, Tuesday, Aug. 26.

Pettisville won the boys race with 21 points, followed by Archbold, 40, and Evergreen, 61.

The Birds also won the girls race with 27 points followed by Evergreen, 40, and Archbold, 62.


The first Archbold runner to cross the finish line was Adrian Ramirez. He finished third in 18 minutes, 49 seconds.

Michael Volkman was fifth in 19:17. Justin Storrer was ninth in 20:27.

Jacob Gobrogge was 11th in 21:29. Chan Tinsman finished 12th in 21:30.

Other AHS runners, their places and times: Chris Jennings, 27th, 23:53; Seth Strawn, 31st, 27:07.

Pettisville’s Austin Borton won in 17:49.


Finishing first for Archbold was Laura Bowman; she placed third in 24:33.

Jackie Bell was eighth in 26:28. Elise Sauder finished 14th in 27:18. Amanda Storrer was 23rd in 33:18; and Paige Price placed 24th in 39:25.

Pettisville’s Tanner Hostettler won in 20:44.

“We use these midweek meets as a work meet, and I think all of the athletes worked hard and trained well for this meet,” said Mike Wachtmann, AHS coach.

“All our athletes also surprised me by lowering their times from the Defiance Early Bird.”
