Archbold Boys U-10 Soccer Finishes Third In Tourney

The Archbold Boys U-10 soccer team placed third in the 2007 Northwest Ohio Festival Soccer Tournament in Toledo, Friday, Aug. 10-Sunday, Aug. 12.

In the first game, Jack Fisher, Kyle Kinsey, Seth Mayer, AJ Short, Alex Short, Alex Weaver, Michael Weigand, Curtis Wooley, and guest U-9 player Ian Radabaugh travelled to Sylvania Pacesetter Park, where Perrysburg won 9-1.

Weigand scored the lone goal. Radabaugh had at least five goals saved that could have been scored. AJ Short saved two hard shots on goal.

Archbold won 17-1 against Port Clinton in the second Saturday game.

The Blue Streaks played their best game of the tournament on Sunday. Weigand scored in the second quarter, and Mayer scored two in the third, but Archbold lost 6-3.

In its final game on Sunday, Archbold practiced position changes on the field to prepare for the upcoming season and beat Port Clinton 7-0 to finish third.

The U-10 players, including Kegan and Kyle Ott, begin their regular season after Labor Day. Coaches are Tara Short and Michael Weaver.
