Archbold kicked off the New Year with a 51-35 nonleague win at Fairview, Saturday, Jan. 5.

Led by Zeb Frank’s 16 points, Archbold (7-2) led 16- 12 after the first eight minutes, but held the Apaches to just three points in the second stanza for a commanding 26-15 advantage at the break.

The Streaks outscored the Apaches 15-9 in the third. Fairview reversed the roles in the fourth quarter, edging Archbold 11-10 for the 51-35 final.

Trevor Layman led Fairview (1-10) with 13 points.

Fairview committed 18 turnovers to Archbold’s 10. The Streaks won the rebounding battle 30-27.

OG 52, AHS 41

The Ottawa-Glandorf Titans rolled into Archbold, Friday, Dec. 28 and used a balanced scoring attack to pick up a 52-41 win over the Streaks to improve to 6-1.

“Both teams competed hard,” said Doug Krauss, AHS head coach.

“In the second quarter, we put ourselves into a little hole with some turnovers, and a good OG team capitalized on them.”

From the tip-off it looked like the two squads would play a good old-fashioned shoot-out, trading baskets in the first period.

Tyson Dietrich was on fire, scoring nine of Archbold’s 13 points as the Streaks led 13- 12 after one.

OG put the Blue and Gold away in the second, rattling off the period’s first nine points for a 21-13 lead.

Luke Fisher finally stopped the drought with 4:05 left in the second. Jay Miller added a deuce to close the gap to 21-17.

OG led 26-17 at the half as Noah Bramlage hit a threepointer at the buzzer, and stretched the difference to 38-28 after three.

Devin Shannon opened the scoring for Archbold to start the final eight minutes, but OG scored the next five points to up the lead to 43- 30.

Archbold narrowed the difference to 48-41 with 50 seconds left, but the Titans tallied four points at the charity stripe for their total of 52.

Dietrich closed out the night with 12 points while Fisher ended with 10.

The Titans placed three in double digits. Michael Rosebrock led all scorers with 13 points. Noah Bramlage scored 12 and Caleb Siefker had 10.

OG won the rebounding battle 28-19, and committed 14 turnovers to Archbold’s 15.

The Streaks were 16-36 from the field while OG was 18-36, including four threepointers. The Titans were 12-20 at the foul line, while AHS was 9-15.
