Archbold Boys Soccer Raises Record To 11-1-1

Ranked sixth in the latest Division III Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association poll, Archbold scored wins over Delta in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League and a non-league contest over Lima Central Catholic to run its record to 11-1-1, 4-0 NWOAL.

AHS 10, Delta 0

The Streaks traveled to Delta (4-5-3, 0-2-2 NWOAL), Tuesday, Sept. 26.

It was an offensive explosion for AHS, with nine firsthalf goals en route to the 10- 0 shutout.

Trey Theobald started the scoring with a goal in the second minute of play.

Clay Gerig scored two minutes later, followed by two more goals by Andrew Hogrefe for a 4-0 lead less than 10 minutes into the game.

After Theobald, Denver Beck and Elijah Zimmerman gave AHS a commanding 7-0 lead, Kaiden Bedsole added another goal. Connor Hagans scored the final goal of the first half with nine minutes on the clock for a 9- 0 lead.

Zimmerman scored the only goal in the second half for the 10-0 final.

Bedsole had a pair of assists, while Theobald, Hogrefe, Josh Kidder and Trevan Kindinger all contributed one.

Archbold had 17 shots on goal and allowed only one shot.

AHS 7, LCC 0

Lima Central Catholic (6- 5-2) took the long bus ride to Archbold to face the Streaks, Saturday, Sept. 30, at Spengler Field.

It was a slow first half before the Streaks scored on a Hogrefe goal 17:28 into the game for a 1-0 lead.

Hogrefe scored his second goal ten minutes later for a 2-0 lead.

With time winding down in the first half, Kidder scored with 28 seconds left on a Bedsole assist for a 3-0 lead at the half.

Theobald wasted little time in the second half, scoring two minutes in.

Kidder and Bedsole hooked up again to score the fifth AHS goal of the game with 31:12 left.

Beck and Hagans scored the final two goals for the 7-0 final. Hagans and Lucas Yoder each had an assist.

The Archbold junior varsity scored a 2-0 win over LCC.

Title On The Line

The Streaks go for an outright league title, Thursday, Oct. 5, when they host Liberty Center (8-2) at 7 pm.

Both sit atop the NWOAL with 4-0 records.
