Update– The boil order issued by the Village of Archbold for Burlington, Elmira, and Pettisville was lifted at 8:45 pm Thursday, Sept. 19
The Village of Archbold Water Treatment plant has issued a boil order for residents of Burlington, Elmira, and Pettisville, and those served by waterlines along St. Rt. 2 and St. Rt. 66, north and east of the St. Rt. 2, St. Rt. 66, Co. Rd. E intersection.
It does not affect anyone living in the village corporation limits, or anyone served by Archbold waterlines running south of the village.
Scott Schultz, water treatment plant superintendent, said the order is a precaution. He anticipates it will be lifted tonight, Thursday, Sept. 19, at around 8 pm. The lifting of the boil order will be announced over local radio station WMTR, 96.1 FM, Archbold.
The order was caused the deterioration of a fiber gasket at the point where the Sauder Village complex taps into the St. Rt. 2 waterline, Schultz said. Water crews repaired the gasket Wednesday. The boil was issued about 6:30 pm that day.-posted 2:15 pm Thurs., 9.19.13
