Anthony Wayne, BG Win Walker-Dilbone Relays



The Archbold boys track team’s string of Walker-Dilbone Relays titles stopped at four, as Anthony Wayne captured the title, Friday, May 3, at AHS.

The Generals scored 110 points, while Archbold placed second with 92. Liberty Center was third with 52.

Bowling Green won the girls title with 104 points. Liberty Center was second with 98, and Wauseon placed third with 81. Archbold was fourth with 72.

Winning teams from Archbold included the 1600-meter sprint relay, 4×400, and pole vault relay.

Archbold will attempt to defend its boys title in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League track and field meet next week.

The Blue Streak boys have won four straight NWOAL team titles.

Preliminaries are scheduled to run Tuesday, May 14, beginning at 2 p.m., at Archbold, with field events and the finals of the 4×800-meter relay.

The 3200 relay will be run no sooner than 5 p.m. and not later than 6 p.m., depending on the completion of the field events.

It will be followed by the semifinals of the boys and girls 110- and 300-meter hurdles, 100-, 200-, and 400- meter dashes, and the 4×100, 4×200, and 4×400 relays. The relays will be run only if needed.

The league meet concludes Friday, May 17, beginning at 7 p.m.
