AHS Wins Baseball Doubleheader

The Archbold baseball team improved to 3-0 on the young season, winning a doubleheader over North Central, Tuesday, March 29, at Archbold.

Three games were cancelled due to the weather.

Archbold pounded out 14 hits in an 11-1 win in the first game, with Ben Bucklew throwing a no-hitter. He (1-0) gave up one run on no hits, struck out nine, and walked eight in five innings of work.

NC’s one run came when Bucklew walked four straight batters in the first inning.

At the plate, Bucklew and Derek Walker each went 3-4, with Bucklew recording two runs batted in. Bryce Williams and Ian Radabaugh each went 2-3 with Williams recording three RBIs and Radabaugh, one.

Brandon Miller went 2-2 and Gabe Petersen was 2-4 with two RBIs.

Miller recorded a two-hit shutout in the second game as AHS picked up their third win of the season 4-0. He went the distance, giving up two hits, striking out 12, and walking two.

At the plate, Williams went 2-3 with one RBI. D. Walker went 2-4.
