AHS Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight Match

The Archbold volleyball team raised its record to 5-2, 2-1 NWOAL with four wins last week.

The Streaks hosted Bryan for a Northwest Ohio Athletic League match, Tuesday, Sept. 14. After losing the first game 28-30, AHS won the next three, 25-16, 25-17, 25-16.

The Blue and Gold traveled to Wauseon, Thursday, Sept. 16. It took five games, but the Streaks came home with a 12-25, 25-15, 25-20, 26-28, 15-9 NWOAL victory.

Archbold hosted a trimatch with Fairview and Napoleon, Saturday, Sept. 18. The Streaks defeated the Apaches 25-12, 25-11, and the Wildcats 25-19, 25-21.

The Streaks had 59 kills and were 134/162 in attacks against the Golden Bears. Becca Gerig and Abby Short each had 13 kills while Megan Gerig had 10.

Short served three aces; Alyssa Gobrogge and Sarah Wyse each had two. As a team, the Streaks were 83/96 in serving for 86%.

Wyse was 135/137 in setting; as a team, AHS was 155/158.

The Streaks were 65/72 in serve reception and 174/187 in passing.

Wyse and B. Gerig each had two solo blocks.

B. Gerig led the Streak attack with 16 kills. Short and Nicole Hurst each had 11. The Streaks were 136/163 in attacks as a team.

Wyse served three aces. B. Gerig and Chelsea Goebel each served two. AHS was 87/100 in serving as a team.

Wyse was 134/135 in setting.

The Streaks were 75/94 in serve reception, 166/187 in passing, and 159/162 in setting.

Hurst had six kills, B. Gerig had five, and Tori Williams had four against Fairview. As a team, the Streaks were 35/44 in attacks for 79% with 17 kills.

Goebel served nine aces, while Short served five. B. Gerig and Hurst each had three.

Against Napoleon, Williams had eight kills, Short had seven, and G. Gerig and Hurst each had four. The Streaks were 63/72 in attacks for 87% with 27 kills.

B. Gerig and Short each served two aces. Wyse was 62/62 in setting.

The Streaks were 45/49 in serving for 91% and 80/81 in setting for 98%.
