AHS Volleyball Ups Record To 15-6

The Archbold volleyball team recorded three wins and one loss last week to raise their record to 15-6, 6-1 in the Northwest Ohio Athletic League.

The Streaks hosted Swanton, Tuesday, Oct. 5, and won the NWOAL match in three games, 25-11, 25-7, 25-14.

Archbold hosted Montpelier for another league match, Thursday, Oct. 7, and derailed the Locos 25- 12, 25-8, 25-15.

The Streaks traveled to Toledo Start High School, Saturday, Oct. 9 for a trimatch with the Spartans and the Rossford Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs beat the Streaks 25-13, 25-21, then Archbold defeated the host 25-17, 25-10.

Nicole Hurst and Becca Gerig led AHS with seven kills each. Abby Short had six. As a team, AHS was 68/80 in attacks with 30 kills.

Sarah Wyse and Taylor Coressel each served four of the team’s 13 aces. AHS was 70/74 in serving.

Wyse was 21/21 in setting, while Coressel was 28/28. Gerig had two solo blocks.

Alyssa Gobrogge had 11 kills, while Gerig and Tori Williams each had five and Short and Hurst each had four. As a team, AHS was 58/72 in attacks with 30 kills.

Chelsea Goebel served five aces, while Wyse served three. The team was 67/74 in serving with 11 aces.

Wyse was 50/50 in setting.

Against Rossford, Gerig had six of the team’s 18 kills. Jenny Lehman had four, while Short and Hurst each had three.

Wyse was 25/26 in setting while Coressel was 21/21.

As a team, AHS was 33/35 in serves with three aces, 43/47 in serve reception, 68/70 in setting, and 50/69 in attacks.

In the match with Start, Lehman had seven of the team’s 23 kills. Gerig had six; Short and Hurst each had four. Hurst had three solo blocks.

Lehman served five of the Streaks’ seven aces.

Wyse was 36/36 in setting, while Coressel was 19/19.

As a team, AHS was 47/49 in serving, 55/55 in setting, and 38/47 in attacks.
