AHS Tennis Falls To Napoleon, Springfield

The Archbold girls tennis team was blanked by Napoleon 5-0, Monday, Aug. 21, at Napoleon.

The Streaks hosted Springfield, Tuesday, Aug. 22. While they lost 3-2 to fall to 0-4 on the season, Elizabeth Mignin won her first varsity match. She played third singles.

Napoleon 5, AHS 0

Singles: 1. Aliza Lankenau (N) def. Amanda Payne 6-1, 6-0. 2. Ashley Rieger (N) def. Belle Clark 6-1, 6-0. 3. Madison Sonnenberg (N) def. Mignin 6-2, 6-1.

Doubles: 1. Reilly Steffel and Anna Bernicke (N) def. Melayna Stuckey and Leah Miller 6-4, 6-3. 2. Jaimee Schreiber and Paige Knipp (N) def. Sara Lovejoy and Callie Rohrs 6-2, 6-1.

JV: Adriana Thompson and Maggie Henry won 6-4. Isabella Ruiz lost 6-0.

Springfield 3, AHS 2

Singles: 1. Henthorn (S) def. Clark 6-1, 6-0. 2. Helminiak (S) def. Miller 6-1, 6-0. 3. Mignin (A) def. Kurtz 2-6, 6-2, 10-7.

Doubles: 1. Stuckey and Payne (A) def. Tan and LaMontagne 6-1, 6-4. 2. Breymaier and Welker (S) def. Lovejoy and Rohrs 6-2, 6-0.

JV: Henry and Clark won 6-2. Ruiz and Thompson lost 6-1.
