AHS Softball Wins Two To Open Season

The Archbold softball team opened its season with two non-league victories last week.

AHS 3, Liberty-Benton 1

The Streaks hosted Liberty Benton, Monday, March 29, and scored single runs in the second, fifth, and sixth innings to win 3-1.

The Eagles scored their sole run in the sixth inning.

Mya Stuckey pitched a complete game. In seven innings she allowed one run on three hits, and struck out five.

AHS collected four hits. Carsyn Hagans hit a triple, while Kylie Sauder, Alyssa McCoy, and Ella Bowman each had a base hit.

AHS 10, Maumee 7

The Streaks led 8-4 after two innings and withstood a three-run sixth by Maumee on their way to a 10-7 non-league victory, Tuesday, March 30, at Memorial Park.

Maddie Thiel was the winning pitcher. In three innings she allowed four runs on two hits, struck out two, and walked two.

Archbold had seven hits. Sauder had a double and a single with an RBI, while Addison Ziegler had a double.

Emma Hall and Bre Boysel each hit a single with an RBI; Hagans and Bowman each hit a single.
