AHS Softball Players Honored In District, State

Four Archbold softball players received All-District honors for the 2012 season.

The Streaks were led by Cassidy Wyse, who received First Team honors.

Becca Gerig was named Second Team, while Chelsea Goebel and Hanna Allison received honorable mentions.

“These young ladies were very deserving of the recognition they received,” said Joe Frank, AHS head coach.

“They, along with their teammates, worked extremely hard for the success they had this season. Three of the four receiving honors will return next year, and that certainly is a good thing for Archbold softball.

Wyse also was awarded Second Team All-State honors in Division III. A player must receive First Team All- District honors to qualify for All-State honors.

“Cass had a great year and was very deserving of the honor of being All-State,” said Frank.

“We look forward to having her around for two more years as she works to become a better softball player.”

Would that there were an award for people who come to understand the concept of enough. Good enough. Successful enough. Thin enough. Rich enough. So-cially responsible enough. When you have self-respect, you have enough, and when you have enough, you have self-respect.– Gail Sheehy
