A Cassidy Wyse grand slam home run in the bottom of the sixth inning propelled Archbold past Evergreen in the Div. III regional semifinal, Wednesday, May 23, at Liberty Center.
With the score tied at 0 going into the bottom of the sixth, Cassidy Williams led off the Streak offensive attack with a bunt. After Ruth Beck popped out to center field, Becca Gerig doubled, sending Williams to third.
Chelsea Goebel was intentionally walked, loading the bases.
Wyse stepped up to the plate and hit the home run, giving AHS the 4-0 lead heading into the seventh.
The Vikings scored three runs on a couple of errors by Blue Streaks with two outs, but Archbold finally got the third out when Bailie Brock hit a grounder to Wyse at third.
The Streaks play Milan Edison, who defeated Martins Ferry 13-0 in their regional semifinal, in the regional final, Saturday, May 26, at Ashland.–Updated 5.24, 10:30 pm
