AHS Music Teachers Announce 2016 Band And Choral Awards

Beth Voll and Kent Vandock, Archbold high school band and vocal music directors, recently announced award winners for the year.

The Praetorius Musicum award, given to a student who participates in both the band and choir, was a tie. Winners were Emma Cobb and Hope Nofziger. Cobb was also the winner of the John Philip Sousa award. Both are seniors.

Matt Benecke, a senior, received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.

Other seniors that were honored: Emily Rose, band director’s award for dedication; Ellie Rupp and Lindsey Roehrig, Archbold Vocal Music Booster Scholarships; Adam Grisier and Sid Ramirez, sound technicians; Will Collins and Allie McQuade, National Choral Award.

Cobb and Dana Voll, an eighth grader, were honored with the band Excellence in Music Award.

D. Voll and Riah Short, an eighth grader, received the Fred Waring Director’s Awards in choir.
