AHS In Tri-Meet At Bryan

The Archbold cross country teams traveled to Bryan, Tuesday, Sept. 7, for a tri-match with Bryan and Wauseon.

Bryan won the boys meet with 19 points, followed by Wauseon with 41. Archbold had 73.

Wauseon won the girls meet with 27 points, followed by Bryan with 28. Archbold had 81.

The first Archbold runner to cross the finish line in the boys race was Brian Grime. He placed sixth in 18:58.

Running 15th was Michael Volkman, 19:58; followed by Colin Shannon, 16th, 20:03; and Justin Storrer, 17th, 20:05; Tyler Short, 23rd, 21:02; Jacob Gobrogge, 26th, 21:43. Bryan’s Tony Plouck won in 17:58.

The first Archbold runner to cross the line in the girls race was Katrina Gobrogge. She was 11th, 22:57.

Laura Bowman, 28th, 25:40; Jackie Bell, 29th, 25:40; Aleah Lambright, 30th, 25:44; Rahel Frie, 36th, 27:45.

Other Streaks, their places and times: Amanda Storrer, 39th, 30:29; Paige Price, 40th, 33:38.

“We used the tri-meet as a work meet preparing to run at Delta, so I didn’t expect the times to be spectacular,” said Mike Watchmann, AHS coach. “Brian Grime ran very well, as did Justin Storrer, Colin Shannon and Jacob Gobrogge.

“The girls worked very hard against very good teams from Wauseon and Bryan.”
